“Their religion is yoga”: Understanding the Role of Spirituality for Black Women in Computing

Abstract

This work examines how spirituality shapes the experiences of Black women in computing. Through their accounts, the authors explore the ways spiritual practice provides grounding, meaning, and resilience.

The findings highlight the importance of seeing Black women holistically in efforts to broaden participation in computing.
